Sean D. Lafferty, Eng - Founder and Chief Executive Officer
Sean Lafferty is the founder and chief executive officer at EVG Extracts. As CEO, Sean oversees the strategy, engineering, extraction processes and fabrication of innovative extraction technologies.
Prior to this role, Sean was the vice president of operations and subsequently vice president, technology & strategic projects, for Blue Sun Energy, which he founded, vertically integrated, and was a board member. Under Sean's leadership, Blue Sun raised over $50MM in capital as the company commercialized several new process technologies--including a first-in-the-world commercial scale (30M gal/y) enzymatic biodiesel plant. Sean was also responsible for feedstock procurement, fuel sales/trading, oilseed breeding, farmer coop partnerships, and developing an exclusive authorized distributor network for branded fuel marketing; Blue Sun Fusion.
Sean has over 25 years of progressive leadership experience as an engineer and holds a bachelor of science in electrical engineering from Colorado State University. He lives in Evergreen, Colorado with his wife, Chris, and two children, where they team up to chase the powder of the nearby ski slopes to telemark and snowboard.
Josh Dickinson, MBA - Executive Vice President Sales and Strategic Relations
Josh Dickinson is the executive vice president at EVG Extracts. As EVP, Josh is focused on the scale and growth of the business through sales and strategic relationships.
Josh combines his EPC experience in bio/agricultural processing, renewable energy and ownership of a 178 acre industrial hemp farm with his practical supply chain management, strategy, and risk mitigation skills to make impactful decisions based on data and analytics. His career began in M&A with True Value Hardware and he grew into leading national business development and sales engineering roles with Abengoa, Contech Engineered Solutions and Volt Technical Resources.
Josh is a steward of his farmland committed to organic farming practices and a 15 year servant to his community seeking to alleviate poverty with Habitat for Humanity International. He attended Lindenwood University for his bachelor of science in engineering and then Washington University in St. Louis' Olin Business School for his executive master in business administration.
Scott Sportsman, Ph.D. - Chief Engineer
Scott Sportsman is the chief engineer at EVG Extracts. As Chief Engineer, Scott is the thought-partner to EVG founder and chief executive officer, Sean Lafferty, and head of process engineering deeply engrained in the design, build, validation, and commercialization of new technologies.
From rendering to experimentation to implementation, Scott has delivered optimized performance, greater efficiencies, and significant cost reductions for a multitude of projects while working as the senior process engineer for Crimson Renewable Energy, IPAC Chemicals/Power Chemicals, Lignol Innovations, and Silura Technologies.
Scott enjoys managing and mentoring junior engineers and scientist, a quality he developed after he earned his bachelor of science in chemical engineering from University of South Florida, and he is both a master of science in chemical engineering and petroleum refining and doctor of philosophy from Colorado School of Mines, Golden, Colorado.
Anita Agrawal, Ph.D. - Director of Product Development
Anita Agarwal is the director of product development at EVG Extracts. As the Director of Product Development, Anita leads research and development in formulating innovative topical, beauty and edible products for EVGs established customer base.
Anita has vast experience in managing scalable projects giving deep consideration to ingredient quality, costs, process enhancements, nutrients, and chemistry which has been influenced by her senior roles with Fresca Foods, The Schwan Food Company, Ready Foods, Leprino, General Mills and more. She has also worked in pharmaceuticals and in academia.
Anita holds extensive certification in research related topics for safety, microbial controls, extrusion and process environments. Originally from India where she earned both a bachelor's and master's degree in economics, she then studied at Rutgers University where she earned a master of science, a master of philosophy, and her doctorate in food science.
Mark Angerhofer, MS - Director of Applied Science
Mark Angerhofer is the director of applied science at EVG Extracts. As Director of Applied Science, Mark oversees all analytical testing procedures and laboratory technology to ensure EVG adheres to the stricter compliance standards and produces the highest quality end products.
Mark is solution focused, figuratively and literally. With 12 years experience in public and private sectors in a outside of the cannabis industry, his career path has focused on the validation of methods in organic and inorganic testing for HPLC, LC/MS/MS, GC, GCMS and oversight of staff conducting research, and quality assurance programs with the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment, Rm3 Labs, and Truesource.
Mark has conducted research and generated significant discussion on the thermal degradation of cannabis constituents and obtained certifications in hazard analysis. He earned is bachelor of science degree in chemistry from the University of Montana, as well as, two separate master of science degrees including Environmental Chemistry from the University of Alaska and one in civil engineering from University of Colorado Denver.
